Yes We Are
Conservative and thoroughly Catholic, Poland is hard place for lesbians and queer women to survive. Public discussion of any alternative sexuality centres on gay men, and so lesbians and queer women are not such a consideration in the social dialogue about homophobia. Here we meet those queer women agitating for visibility and human rights in Poland today. The resourceful energy of a grassroots feminist lesbian movement (reminiscent of such a movement in the West 40 years ago) meets 21st century social networking. Always constructive and considered, the women's enthusiasm for creating their own brand of social change is infectious. A fascinating exploration of a resilient and inventive queer subculture, and the women who make it possible.
