The Notebook

An elderly man (James Garner) visits a woman (Gena Rowlands) in a nursing home and reads her a story about a young couple, Noah and Allie (Ryan Gosling, Rachel McAdams), who spend one summer together but become separated by World War II and don't see each other for 14 years. When Noah returns to town, he briefly reunites with Allie, who is engaged to be married.
