Streep showcases her enormous talent in this film & proves the classic actress has the immense power to carry a film without barely... more lifting a finger. Hathaway brings something new with the progressive independence and naivety that the role requires. No one else could have played this part as well as her. The Fashion sequences alone will quell the thirsts of ay female viewer while the tiny outfits and underwear montages should take care of the guys. This film does not dumb anything down for the audience; it speaks volumes about the writers and gives you insight not gathered from other movies of this nature. This film really drives home the thought of morality, strength and aplomb that is so lacking in today?s society. The supporting cast are fantastic, especially Emily Blunt who seems to be given the lines that ensure the most hilarity. This film is an absolute must see.

I think Streep stands out in the role of the fashion editor, and I can't imagine anyone better. ... more Anne Hathaway is good, but sometimes a little unbelievable in her role as naive journalist. Personally I wasn't overly happy with the ending of the film... But at the end of the day this film is what it is.... cotton candy for the brain. Very enjoyable but with little substance.

    msdeltoroReviewed at 04:59PM on 31 Jan 2007Gotta Love Meryl - what can i say meryl is fantastic but then again show me a movie where her performance has been less than astounding.the portrayal of playing the ultimate bitch of a boss is something in which all can relate too.anne... more hathaway altho pleasing was her performance i found her character to lack strong believability and found her to be more suited to a role in a disney film where her naivity would be better utilised. but then it is very easy to be outshadowed by acting veterans such as meryl streep. without meryls presence i would regard this film as mediocre as the storyline reflected too many cliches that we have seen in several movies before just not one with such an expensive label to go with it.however if u want a nite out with the girls with a little giggle while downing those m&m's then the devils wear prada would not be a bad idea-just dont go there with the mind set that this movie will rock ure socks off is all.

This has been the movie of the year for me so far, it was so good I didnt want it to stop.Twentythree year old Anne Hathaway is... more wonderful support and I cant wait to see her in the Jane Austin films, I dont think an American actor in these will do the story no harm at all. The Devil has everything, The fashion and the sheer night shots of New York and Paris were outstanding. No - cant find anything bad to say about this film as you can see, its a winner.

    wazronReviewed at 10:59PM on 27 Dec 2006Not Only The Fashion - while attending this movie with my mum, we met up with some people we knew, a mother and daughter who were especially into the whole "fahion" thing such as; chael, prada and louis vitton etc..we guessed that they went... more to see the movie much for the labels that are "in". my mum, however, is not into that stuff at all. she enjoyed the movie for its morals, such as doing what you enjoy the most, and wanting what you want out of life!

Anne Hathaway does ugly duckling/ugly Betty routine down to a T. However her character is far more... more believable than Betty partly due to Anne's acting and first rate costuming. From what I gather, from a friend, quite an accurate portrail of life in a fashion magazine. Very much sink or swim. rating: 6 out of 10 - guys 7 from 10 if it's a date

She plays a very fabulous aloof fashion boss from hell, and you dont quite know whether to love her or hate her in this part! but I think the stand out performance was from Stanley Tucci.... more He is so genuine and honest in the way he appears onscreen and truly a delight to watch. All in all, a very well put together piece of cinema. Something fun to go see with your girls
