The Bookbinder

They say you can get lost in a good book. But it’s worse getting lost in a bad one… From award-winning company Trick of the Light Theatre comes a story of mystery, magic and mayhem. The Bookbinder is an inventive one-man performance that weaves shadowplay, paper art, puppetry, and music into an original dark fairytale in the vein of Coraline and Jonathon Strange and Mr Norrell. The play was first performed in the back room of Arty Bees bookshop as part of NZ Fringe in Wellington and has since toured throughout New Zealand and Australia. It has played to sell out houses for every performance since its premiere, and received Best Theatre, Best in the Fringe, and the Tiki Tour Ready Award at the NZ Fringe 2014, and the International Excellence Award at Sydney Fringe 2014. It has wide appeal to audiences of all ages, but is best suited to children 8+. “Absorbing and imaginative… A small gem of theatre.” – The Dominion Post, Wellington Venue: In the Reynolds Room, Hokitika`s Regent Theatre Date: Tuesday 14 July Time: 6pm and 8pm (two shows) Ticket price: $20 adults; $12 students
