Saw is a gentle ride compared to other horror films. Hmm however, I wouldn't... more really class it as 'horror'. Id class it as 'Shitting gory'. A classic, to the end. Other films, like the Omen etc are just plain puzzling and disturbing, but thinking of Jigsaw makes me feel sick. A phycotic killer with no mercy, but exceptionally clever. To make people think about the value of life. Whoever thought of that should get a pat on the back. I'm also 13, and bloody hell did this freak me out. Classic. 4/5.laura

The movie isn't so complex you need to see it more than once and it isn't hard to understand the storyline. I found a few of the cuts confusing but I think that was the intention of the director. The acting for the most part is relatively weak but there are a few parts that the actors made believable enough for me to cringe. The movie is very dark with most of the shots either set in a room or at night in various locations. The violence is more implied with little on screen. A very atmospheric soundtrack by Charlie Clouser added to the intensity of Saw. One of the best endings in cinema history? Probably not and I know a lot of people found it lame but I found it pleasantly surprising. 3.5/5
