    bondishReviewed at 11:05PM on 15 Jan 2005Definitely Overrated... - Preview trailers for 'Open Water' made it look like a genuinely frightening movie. This is, however, far from the case. Open Water had some good moments, and I applaud the fact that real sharks were used, but it's low... more budget and lack of action, which for the most part was seen in the trailers, makes it quite mediocre. Although the acting isn't bad, the conversations that we have to listen to don't allow for much entertainment. The anti-climatic ending doesn't help a lot either. But what you can expect from a film made on a shoestring budget? Rolling Stone says that 'Open Water' "achieves a primal terror". I disagree. 2/5 Stars.

    Jen2217Reviewed at 11:54AM on 4 Jul 2005Ho Hum - Whilst I didn't mind watching this movie, there wasnt a whole lot to it. Very boring in parts and long winded. Brave actors for getting in there with real wild sharks but that was probably the most impressive thing... more about the whole movie. Wouldn't watch it again.

    JessReviewed at 10:38AM on 1 Feb 2005I Liked This Movie - If you go to see this movie don't expect a movie like Jaw's because it's not a Jaw's take off. It's a true story that depicts a young unfortunate couple that were stranded in the middle of the ocean. I thought it made... more you think and definitely had its moments were you were gripping to your seat with fright.. (perhaps I'm too easily scared). I would give this movie at least a 3/5 if not 3.5/5. It was insightful and definitley made you think of the couple it happened to and shudder because apparently being left behind in open water isn't that uncommon it's just generally they come back for you.
