    CandriasReviewed at 01:13AM on 8 Nov 2007Very Impressive - I admit that I was skeptical going into King Kong, I am not a big fan of remakes... but I was seriously impressed! Perhaps it was a little slow for me at the start, but by the time they reach Skull Island it is more... more than made up for with some fantastic action sequences! Kong is incredibly well portrayed, his expressions and body language (although often subtle) communicte very clearly and credibly - the Serkis / Jackson / Weta combo is unbeatable. Jackson doesn't try and scientifically explain everything (as they do in Jurassic Park), the movie is definately a fantasy, so forget about where Kong and the dinosaurs came from and enjoy a fantastic remake with some amazing special effects.

    narexReviewed at 01:13PM on 23 Dec 2005Narex Is Not First! - I saw this movie the other night and well, it is interesting. after sitting through the first 3rd of the film I realised that I really didn't like it that much. What changed my mind was the middle where there was some... more great stuff going on. I just love giant creatures so I was hooked for a while. What brought me back to not likeing the movie was the end. I got rather bored again and actually stopped watching. But anyway, I give it 3 out of 4 By Narex

I particulary liked it because it involves many elements of genre's, including action, drama, romance and thriller. It keeps you on the edge of your seats at times and has you even... more shedding a tiny tear at other times. This is an exciting and interesting storyline that Peter Jackson should be proud of! :)

I think that this Movie is a beautiful movie, with just the right amount of Action, Monsters and Romance. The Way that Kong was... more brought to the screen, I thought was as if he was a child; gentle, but with a dangerous side of fighter. I agree with the review below mine, I was stuck to my seat the whole time, and could not take my eyes from the screen. I cried from Kong hitting his chest due to the last Sunset, right to the end of the Picture. Andy did a wonderful job, as Kong and as Lumpy...Brilliant, Funny, Breath-taking, scary, Action-pack and reality, all locked up in the perfect time of 3 hours!

    MohekeReviewed at 09:08AM on 14 Dec 2005A Blast From The Past - Midnight, tired, and just a little too ready to slip off to sleep....but Kong starts....and for the next 3 hours I was transfixed! What a great piece of cinema. This movie has it all, it out Jurassics the Jurassic... more Park movies, literally places you in 1930s New York, has Love, humour and more than enough amazing action and creatures for anyone. 3 hours fair whizzes past. The Ape captures your heart...because Jackson and his team have brought him to life. The expression in his eyes and face, at times, are worth admission alone, and Naomi Watts is perfect in her role. This would appear to have even wider appeal than the Rings Trilogy....but one things for sure.....Peter Jackson is the man! I will be visiting Skull Island again!

As I have never seen the original (a bit too young to have seen it!) it's hard for me to say how true to the original it is. But as far as... more I'm concerned it's the best movie I've seen since the LOTR Trillogy! It has every thing you could want from a movie, drama, humour, sad parts, scary parts, and everything in between. It's a must see over the holiday period!

    ClevomanReviewed at 05:33PM on 5 Mar 2006A Forever Affair .. - Amazing how KingKong appears halfway through this film, Lovee the effects but it was almost like watching lord of the rings again for the fifth time .. long ..drawn .. but then again anything Peterjackson is worthwhile... more watching .. ( at least once )

    CrittyReviewed at 09:56PM on 10 Jan 2006Mr Jackson, you are my hero! This movie was fantastic. It had everything u could ask for in a movie. Alot of action, some comedy, and a bit of romance. What more could u want. It may have taken awhile to get to the good... more bits, but it was all worth it. Ms Watts was great. To do a majority of her scenes with the green screen was amazing. Two big thumbs up for her. As for Kong himself, Mr Jackson done an incredible job. I recommend this movie to anybody, it was all worth the numb behind.

     OrlandoReviewed at 09:05PM on 27 Jan 2006Dull, Overlong - This movie was too long by about two and a half hours. Sure, there were giant creepy crawlies, there were dinosaurs, there was an impressive giant ape, but where was the narrative power? Naomi Watts was dull, but... more she was not helped by a script that reduced her to a rag doll for, mmm, about two and a half hours. She was the only named female character, and the only female character of note, and she got to scream a lot and be fought over. Great. Then, the final insult, she gets blamed for the whole shenanigans. It was not beauty that killed the beast! It was the planes, and it was bad decision making on the part of a number of the male characters, including Kong himself. There were some interesting ideas here but they tended to get lost in the jungle. The Heart of Darkness motif was working for me, but it vanished. European ideas about 'natives' and the vacuousness of the action movie hero were fun, but they weren't enough to save this spectacularly dull movie.
11. snowpyroReviewed at 03:31PM on 8 Apr 2006Loved It Even If It's 3 Hours - I loved this movie, even though it was for 3 hours, i enjoyed it, it had a little bit of humour, passion and a little of the disgusting bits. I still enjoyed it.
