Daniel Craig plays an excellent Bond bringing to the role things previous Bonds could not. I give this movie... more a 3 out of 5, and a thumbs up!

I waited a long time to see Brosnan as Bond, and Goldeneye delivered, but since then Pierce had to... more suffer through some rather ham-fisted and tired material. Now Daniel Craig, much maligned since before the film even came out, has put a silencer on his critics by delivering a note perfect performance as the new, more savage Bond. This is how Bond started out, and now that grit and depth have returned. Of course, it took a Kiwi director to once again bring out the best in Bond - Martin Campbell take a bow. If I have any gripes with this film, it's that some of the references thrown in to both remind you that you're watching a Bond film, and to distance the film from its predecessors are a bit too cute. Also, the segue into the final act just seemed a touch surreal and didn't seem to fit very well with the rest of the film. Overall a very satisfying experience.

I was not disappointed. I see the writers had taken a note out of the 'Bourne' book and went for... more a bit more reality yet still had that over the top sensibility e.g, the crazy yet exhilerating first chase. Daniel Craigs rugged and rebellious character added a more dangerous likeability to the Bond character, yet I couldn't help thinking that if you put him in some painters overalls and put a 'rolly' in his mouth, he would not look at all out of place painting your house. Anyways, good plot, good action, good actors, way too long romance scene near the end.... all in all, good little action flick with a beautiful Aston Martin thrown in there.. 8.5/10... After seeing this flick I predicted to my GF that woman across the planet would be saying Craig was the 'hottest man alive'. The power of Cinema.

Daniel Craig is superb as Bond, all the... more villians are suitably cold & heartless and Judi Dench gives her usual magnificent performance as M. Subtle digs at the furore around the new Bond (watch for the blue eyes bit at the start) become an approriate 'up yours' as Craig really inhabits the role of 007 lets hope he hangs around for a while.

About time we got a Bond that is ambivalent, blond, and charismatic rather than the... more earlier dark haired, erudite, and feminine (at least vaguely so like Roger and Pierce) shades. The first chase had me riveted to the screen and I never lost interest despite the telegraphed twists and the perfunctory timeshift from the Cold War to the new Millennium.

Action was 9.9/10. I rekon that people who like action and a bit of love will... more absoulutly enjoy this film.

    teamzissouReviewed at 05:10PM on 13 Feb 2007A Good Bond Film - It doesn't pretend to be anything other than a Bond film, so I didn't have any higher expectations for it. It serves up the goods (particularly with a few incredible chase sequences- the best of which is at the start... more and involves a building site) and keeps the story moving. About 20 minutes too long and like most modern action films has three endings. Daniel Craig is great as the new Bond.

When the action was peaking all good but come on......since when did Bond start holding conversations like he had nothing better to do. I think Daniel Craig did a good job making Bond a "real"... more man and the acting overall was rateable however just seemed to lose its way in last 20mins leaving you more peaked than pumped. 7/10

     Kate31812Reviewed at 10:36AM on 28 Jan 2007Bond Is Better Than Ever! - The first chase scene in this movie is absolutely spectacular and to know that it was done without Matrix style harnesses and wires makes it even more so. Casino Royale delivers the Bond that we have all been waiting... more for. If youre over Peirce and his smarmy charm give Daniel a try - I promise there isnt a pun in sight. It is a little long and I had guessed the 'twist' by halfway through but definately a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. 5/5!!
13. kiwifishReviewed at 02:42PM on 9 Jan 2007Cant Wait For The DVD Release - Loved it. Violent and gritty, just the way it should be. Glad they missed out the corny lines and over the top love scenes. Daniel Craig is definitely a hottie.
